Research Interest

Polymers and Materials

Academics:
I did my under-graduate studies in Chemical Engineering from Siddaganga Inst. of Technology, India and currently I am enrolled in Master's program in Chemical Engineering, UMR.

Research Work:
Inter-disciplinary research always fascinated me. Right now I am pursuing my research work under guidance of Dr. Frank D. Blum and Dr. Oliver C. Sitton. My current project deals in Polymer Chemistry and Material Science. We are trying to characterize properties of POSS (Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane ) based nanocomposites, unfurl its intricacies and exploit these properties for better use.

Hobbies :
Philately, Swimming, Traveling & exploring new places.

Research Interests

Academics: As a polymer major, I have worked through almost all polymer fields. After graduated from Dalian University of Technology (China) as a Chemical Engineering major of Polymer, I enrolled in a Master's program on the field of polymer chemistry and materials. In the three years study for Master degree, most of the work was done in the synthesis of special designed silicones used to modify the properties of epoxy materials. The knowledge of material science was built up in this period. The admission to a Ph.D. program was the major turn in my career. Even through a big fraction of the research work is still making the needed polymers, the main target has been turned to the study of pure science of polymer physics. The dynamics of those snaky polymer chains on solid surface became the daily imagination.

Personal Life: To be a real man is the goal of my self-cultivation. Being honest to myself is the biggest success I made so far, because I believe this is the hardest honesty to obtain and I only can see a few around. I was once called "non-stop engine" because of my working style, but now I can feel the engine is getting close to the mileage of 80,000. Trying to keep up with the highest performance becomes critical. Holding the good friendship is my favorite. Unrighteous thoughts are the biggest enemy and hard will is the weapon.

Habits: Soccer, basketball, table tennis, badminton, sleeping, arguing, reading good books, and philosophical meditation.

Motto: it is the task of the truly brilliant people not to let themselves be convinced by their own intelligence that they are always correct
