Academics: Polymer Science is the major interest of my life in Chemistry..I have studied the synthesis of polyurethanes, polyureas and had a chance to study the effect of hydrogen bonding on the physical and mechanical properties of those polymer blends(polyethylene oxides-polyurethanes) by using FTIR, DSC and computational calculations in Koc University(Turkey) with a group mostly consisted of undergrduate studentsTou..Choosing PhD degree in University of Missouri-Rolla in Dr. Blum's research group motivated me to concentrate my studies on the surface properties of polymers.. Currently I am working to understand the behavior of monodisperse polymethyl acrylate polymer on adsorbed surfaces. NMR, DSC and light scattering instruments are going to be my major characterization tools..Synthesis of deuterated methyl acrylate monomers and usage of those monomers in Atomic Transfer Radical Polymerization(ATRP) to get monodisperse deuterated polymethyl acrylate are the major experimental activities I am doing for now..Update of my activities will be reported here as soon as I show progress....
