Academics: As a chemical engineer, I have studied polymers more as an "applied science" rather than as pure science. I graduated from the University of Missouri Rolla in May 2001 and am currently pursuing my masters degree. My eventual goal is to obtain a PhD in chemical engineering and become a professor. I have just begun research of Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS) macromers and how they affect the thermal properties of polymers.
Personal Life/Hobbies: When I have free time, I will usually spend it reading. I enjoy a fairly wide variety of books, but a large percent of what I read would be considered either historical fiction or Christian living. I also enjoy running, volleyball, basketball, and I¹m learning tennis. I love the outdoors, hiking and camping. I have played the piano for as long as I can remember and am blessed to have a piano in my college apartment! I also love to sing, but do not have much opportunity any longer. When given a free weekend, I can usually be found in Kansas City visiting my family. My 2 sisters are my favorite people in the world! I also have some wonderful friends with whom I enjoy spending time.
