Academics: I have done my Bachelor's in Chemical Technology (Specialization: Polymers and Coatings) from U.I.C.T.,Mumbai, India. I have studied the synthesis of most of the commonly used polymers like the acrylates, epoxies, polyurethanes, polyesters,polyamides etc and also their characterization. My undergraduate project was to study the electrochemical corrosion resistance of Zinc rich coatings considering factors like pigment volume concentration, particle size and addition of corrosion inhibitors. I also had a chance to work on UV curable resins. I am presently working under Dr. Frank Blum at University of Missouri, Rolla for my PhD degree. Currently I am studying the effect of small molecule diluents or plasticizers on the dynamics of polymer adsorbed on to surfaces. DSC, TGA, NMR, GPC, GC-MS are some of the instruments I have been using for my research. Synthesis of deuterated monomer and then to polymerise them by using techniquies like emulsion polymerisation, ATRP are the major experimental activities I have been doing.
